Since the 1970s, the Ferdinand Hayden Chapter 008 of Trout Unlimited (FHTU) has been the local voice for Trout Unlimited in the Roaring Fork and middle Colorado River watersheds—from Aspen to Marble to Rifle, Colorado and everywhere in between.

FHTU is the eighth oldest chapter in the history of Tout Unlimited. We are a non-profit, non-partisan conservation organization. And we love to fish.

Our Mission

To conserve, protect, and restore coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.

how we work

Through partnerships, collaboration, advocacy, and education, FHTU works to ensure that robust populations of native and wild trout thrive within their home ranges so that present and future generations can enjoy them for many years to come.

words of wisdom

“There are some who can live without wild things, and some who cannot.”
— Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac
“Take care of the fish, then the fishing will take care of itself.”
